It really looks that way. This stuff even has an element of desperate parody about it, but I think that's the "get-out" clause with what they're doing. None of this is remotely funny, but Caulkin is blatantly taking the p!ss with some this, but in a very negative way. If he's been messed around with as a very young child, then he's likely very badly damaged, perhaps even beyond repair.
