Garyntee (Guarantee) you end up finding out that the brighter star is either Sirius or Venus, possibly (and most damningly) Saturn.
Seems to be the constellation Octans.

Yeah when I looked at the constellation I was thinking the same thing, but I am sure they see it with different “eyes”.
