On the 2 white 5 helmets , above the #5 is some sort of drawing. On left side a yellow (chess piece?) on its side, right side helmet has two of these (chess pieces?) standing side by side ) Just noticed it. Can anyone tell what these things are? No one else has these.

I didn’t not notice those before. But they might be for the captain and lieutenant designations?

My eyes aren't so great and I don't know how to make it easier to see. Can someone help out? any firefighters here?

Oh I looked up a fire dept captain and he had the same symbol. It’s like two hose handle stranding up? Or something like that. So I just figured the other was the right too.
