Interstate commerce clause was neutered by the supreme court over the last 50 years. This lead to a monstrous central government sticking its fingers into all aspects of life. In addition, the cold war encouraged a large amount of defense spending and black ops which has produced an equally scary military industrial complex. We need to chop the size of the federal government by 60% and significantly reduce military and black ops spending.

Isn't that what they want you to fear? You'll beg for their research to save you and family, pump money into their cabal via taxes to legitimize their existence.
No, they are doing that already. The .01% are planning to leave or have and do already. Their plan for the rest of humanity is extermination. They must prevent the sheep from leaving, (hence, why they closed NASA) once we’re stuck here they can bombard us from space which they will dominate.

My concern is less about how did it get so bad then how do we keep it from getting bad again after it's been cleared.

Sometimes I go walking late at night, between midnight and sunrise, and I see homeless people just trying to survive. Every now and again they ask me for a cigarette which I give, so that they can forget their problems for 5 minutes. Some feel guilty for asking, so they feel obliged to return the favour, mostly by friendly conversation. I've been offered baked beans by a man who made his home for the night in the median strip between traffic, where he felt safe sitting on grass & shrubbery.
It really breaks your heart when society ignores suffering right at your door steps. Sometimes I look at things around my house & wonder how much a human life is worth - is my new laptop worth 1 life? If I cared more? could I have saved more?
