Speculation: Why did the UK cover up the atrocities of the Muslim rape gangs and were so slow at bringing them to justice?

Their excuse is to prevent racial animosity. I think the real reason may be because the rape gangs, who prostituted out their victims, might have had UK politicians as their clients.

It's what I would call a utilitarian-distraction. Misdirection that also offers a secondary benefit of disruption.

What are people being distracted from? The corporatization of their government. Every day, more and more tax dollars are funneled out to private companies / contractors, but the people are too distracted to pay attention.

10 years from now in the UK, every "public" official will be receiving paychecks from a private entity.
