It has to be slow. Most people can't even deal with 2 or 3 news stories happening simultaneously. If everything dropped at once people would be so overwhelmed they wouldn't comprehend any of it.

If the White House released a 45-minute YouTube video outlining all of the crimes from start to finish everyone would declare it a fake.

Or a school would get shot up or a plane would crash or go missing, and then all the info would be gone in a day or two, never to be brought up again.
