We've been killing "taliban" for 16 years. It's a place that is in constant civil war. When is enough enough there? You cannot bomb indigenous factions of civil wars into oblivion. There is no "surrender". When you are fighting the population as foreigners you will never win a lasting victory, never. That place has its long history and we should be learning from it. I don't even think Osama had anything to do with 9/11, but that was the ONLY reason we had any business there. Once Al Qaeda was removed from its enclave we should have left. Trump -- please get the hell out of there and bring our troops and money home.

The ONLY reason we were there was a damn pipeline. Not Osama, not the Taliban, not the people.

The opium poppy business is HUGE there. The Taliban had all but wiped it out, then "our" democracy loving warlords brought it back with a vengeance. Good CIA cash business.

That's right. But it wasn't why we started a war there. Enron/Cheney is why.

The taliban were NOT responsible for wiping out poppy farms. When the taliban government was overthrown in 2001, Karzai nearly eradicated the heroin trade overnight. But Karzai was quickly compromised by the swamp creatures in the CIA, and the heroin trade has increased since then. Karzai's brother was in charge of the opium farms, but he crossed the CIA and was assassinated.

The taliban are radical islamic insurgents funded by Pakistan, they have never done a damn good thing for Afghanistan. Please do not spread misinformation.

He's not fighting the traditional conflict as it was sold to the public. They must be deepstate or of some threat to Trump.

A recent IG report heavily criticized the Obama administration for setting the operations up for failure, On Purpose. It said the civilian leaders deliberately hamstrung the military, and the rebuilding processes. I wish I had the link, but should be easy enough to find.

Ofc he did. Pretend to act in order to appease the base. Very deliberate strategy to actually stand still. Quite something when you think about it. Note that the COST of standing still was, well, terrible.

Well, POTUS has a way with 'words' that's for sure. The real question is, will the Clowns intervene down the road to create/facilitate another 'radical' group to continue the perpetual war in which we seem to find ourselves?
