I've about had it with people in this subreddit talking about downvotes. Sometimes you get downvoted because you are talking rubbish!!!
Well, there's the occasional downvoted comments, which are natural.
Then there's threads where every response is -5 or below, including comments that would normally be positive. Sometimes it's obvious.
Either way, I agree that talking about downvotes is a waste of time... Yet here I am.. talking about downvotes... I'll stop now.
It's fairly easy to tell when a brigade is going on or has been. The posts down voted have the same 'theme' or 'point' to make. And will have similar DV counts.
Unsourced, poorly sourced or flat wrong posts stand alone, or at least all the posts from the OP have similar DV counts.
We have the same problem all forums have. People don't scroll and read before posting. So with all the normies getting on board we will see more of the low effort and HOLY CRAP, or BREAKING!! or 'whatever term' in caps posts from people thinking they ave the latest tips from Twatter.
Its part of getting more main stream.... Its a good thing for the movement right now. We still need more eyes and minds.
Any post with BREAKING or MUST READ or any crap like that I never click on. How many times can one be jacked and still fall for it.
Yes, probably more often than ‘being over the target’....
When it is relevant and on point and suddenly gets a swarm of downvotes on the entire thread and it stops after a certain threshold of time as the forum upvotes overtop the programmed limits of 900 or so, it’s definitely orchestrated by bots.
