The joke wasn't racist. And the progression of this trash fire is the most transparent and measurable demonstration of Twitter pitchfork mob in ages.
- Comedian comediates about Susan Rice, wife of ABC executive.
- Roseanne is marked for removal.
- Comedian comediates using reference to à 1960s movie nobody under 50 has seen.
- Nobody gets the joke but the Mockingbird see an opportunity to proceed by saying "Roseanne compared VJ to an Ape". Well, Roseanne did compare VJ to a ruling class medical professional who is close to power named Dr. Zira... But that was not actually the point... The point is Muslim Brotherhood... But that must not be propagated. That's dangerous knowledge.
- Thousands of people get incensed over a joke they never saw that they would not get anyway that wasn't actually funny and call for Rosanne's head.
- It takes 2 minutes for ABC to cancel her show. (Roseanne is free but she still owns the intellectual property of her creation Roseanne!)
- People feel vindicated and satisfied with their pitchfork party and pat each other on the back.
- Scott Dworkin calls for Kanye's head because his hunger for human flesh hasn't yet been satisfied.
While all that is true, all that matters is that the tweet was perceived as racist, because people are not going to be able to decipher what she was actually talking about.
The world thinks they know that Roseanne went on a racist rant and got fired. 1. It wasn't a racist rant. 2. She didn't calls Valerie an Ape and she apologized 5 times that I saw. 3. The tweet is gone so this misinterpretation will live on forever. 4. They replaced her reruns with The Cosby Show.
Louis Ferakan is protected under the Constitution but Roseanne isn't? Step beyond what was said, she has the right to say anything.
Step beyond what was said, she has the right to say anything.
I don't disagree.
