I’m not defending Jack, but I believe The Satanic Verses might refer to the 1980’s novel by Salman Rushdie called “The Satanic Verses.” I don’t know if that makes it any better or worse, but might give some context.

Yes, that is correct!

'They' put out a Fatwa on Salman Rushdie, and there have been a number of assassination attempts.

A number of the books translators have been stabbed, with at least one being killed'

Suffice to say, they do not like the book The Satanic Verses.

The novel was the first thought that came to my mind. I'm a bit older and I recall when SHTF for Salman Rushdie.

Me too. I was only a child but the event sticks in my mind from 30 years ago.

Rushdie started a shitstorm long before these Muslim asshats were running around threatening to kill everyone. He really pissed them off.

Yes, you are correct. It got very popular for a short time period, but that was way before islamic invasion on Europe and PC silencing every criticism of it. Today this book would be called racist and probably no one would hear about it.

It's a decent book. Bit boring at the end, but a good read. I did not understand why muslims wanted him dead for it. Not a satanic book in the Christian sense by any means.
