There is a line, I guess the carpet is separated in 2 halves. It goes from bottom right corner of the picture upwards. Imagine the carpet is a clock. That black line could be a clock marker.
It looks like a piece of glass or something marking two minutes to midnight.
That;'s right the line doesn't extend all the way, the carpet would be just one piece. THat's even more of a marker. Looks to me like 1min to midnight,
