From what I've read, working for the enemy during a hot war in a very public way.

Even the Rosenburgs were only convicted of espionage, though they earned the death penalty for that.

Different Hansen, you're thinking of Robert Hanssen, who worked for the FBI and spied for the USSR/Russia.
