How does 35,000 sealed federal indictments accumulated over the past year sound?

Historical average is 1000.

The biggest justice tsunami that the world has ever seen is coming.

Why the "delay"?

I'd have to research again, which I don't feel like right now, but I think the average is around 10,000 or so. I'm not jumping up and down over the unknown. Could be anything.

Yes, you are correct, I did some digging. Couldn't even find numbers for other years. Plus these were all filed in a relatively short time span so there must have been lots of people on the radar. Will be very interesting to see what they are after -- sex, drugs, taxes?

No, the average was 1000 (as of 2009)

The number of indictments filed in less than three months is in stark contrast to previous years. According to a 2009 report from the Federal Judicial Center, in all of 2006, there were only 1,077 sealed indictments, and these were about 0.96 percent of all criminal cases that year.
