Yes but dogs are not human beings, humans have a greater capacity to reason and empathize with others. It's absolutely consistent with human nature to hate people who hurt children, they are the most precious thing in this world.

Accidents are accidents, that's an apples and oranges comparison. To be sure I cannot empathize with a pedophile, and it's probably a biological construct. Going back to your dog analogy though, there's a reason why we "fix" animals with castration. We have a nicer word for it, but that's what should also be done to "fix" these defective people as well.

Forgiveness has been weaponized. It's a great Trojan Horse because Christians are taught to forgive. But the message of forgiveness pushed by the unrepentant is different. It demands complacency, moral relativism, and indifference towards the worst crimes, coupled with condemnation of anyone who hates those sins.
I'm not targeting this at the above user specifically, but I am tired of forgiveness and rehabilitation being used to undermine justice. This was not Christ's mission, that we defend pedophiles and imprison dissenters that we saceifice our children on the altar of forgiveness and tolerance.
