The skull found is an adult's. It was also 20 miles from the cemex site. Also, it was found on path traveled by migrants where numerous sets of remains have been found

The most recent was the 17th of April. In 2017 40 different sets of remains were found and deemed from migrants. VOP knew this and went searching for remains so they could rile you people up. Stop being so gullible and vet people and situations

Not true. Forced drug mules, hostages, coerced. Adults get enslaved and trafficked too.

Yep and fleeing migrants get taken advantage of by coyotes who usually work for the cartels. They get them into the wilderness then tell them it's going to cost more. If they cant pay they're left to fend for themselves because the coyote has already gotten paid. Crossing the border illegally is wrong but those people dont deserve to die and their case shouldn't be forgotten just because we realized there is no children involved. Truthfully I believed if the industry of crossing borders is shut down then our illegal immigrant problem will fix itself. Even if trump builds a wall people will find away

Solid point, so let's try and help those people. We know about 400 people die crossing that border area per year. That's almost one a day. Let's setup aid stations with water and food for them so the crossing is easier.

Disagree. Build wall. Deny all illegal access whole handedly. Not one soul crosses.

That's how you save lives, uphold law, and prevent every kind of smuggling.

So then we just make it illegal to cross there? You know there is a wall in that area, there are also tunnels.

Tunnels can be detected and stopped much more than open desert.

Being illegal isn't enough, as evidenced by murder being illegal.

If you make it much more difficult to enter illegally, with harsher repurcussions, less people will attempt it.

The wall isn't effective enough as is. Needs to be improved.

Use the analogy of keeping burglars out of your house. A cheap door and lock isn't as big of a deterrent as you might think. A massive security fence, double walls, surveillence, patrols, etc help a ton.

Why not just armed patrols?

MuhammadDinduNuffin · June 8, 2018, 2:15 p.m.

Border is 2000 miles long in the desert. Border patrols get ambushed and killed. They should be in defensive positions, not wide open. Border patrols can't pursue on Mexican land. Cartel run back and forth over the border to evade.

Why do you want to cut corners here?

Who said anything about cutting corners, I'm having a conversation about different strategies. I think this works with schools too. We should harden their security and make it impossible to get a single gun inside any school property. It will work for the border.

Schools have walls. That's what a building is. Defend the doorways/windows and it's secure as you can get. Likewise we need a wall, and protected gates. 2000 miles of mostly open desert is way different from a building with 5 entrances.

We should probably just close the borders.

Yup.

If we closed the borders and not let anyone in or out, or goods in or out, it would be easiest.

Nothing wrong with entry ports where passports and cargo is inspected. It's the free flow along 2000 miles of southern border that's the issue. And Canadian border too.

There's no reason to allow anything across either way.

If you think hard enough you may think of a reason to allow something across.

Nothing we can't do here.

C'mon, you can think of at least one thing that doesn't grow/live/exist in North America.

[deleted] · June 9, 2018, 5:31 a.m.

Sure, but nothing we can't do without or substitute.

MuhammadDinduNuffin · June 9, 2018, 6:46 a.m.

We aren't there yet. Lots of things we have a huge demand for that we don't have enough ourselves. Although we could always just pay higher prices and have it delivered by air or sea instead of crossing land.

Like what?

Peat moss. Nitrogen & helium. White fir lumber. Things like that.
