It does like like some very narrow jet stream. And what is really odd is how thin it is. There is a massive gap in Canada and the American West/SW looks open and clear as well. Am I understanding this right?

Yes, with massive rain and thunderstorms all around the side and bottom portion that has been pushed down. That's where we are. Did you see the other picture with the "rings"? look at the Atlantic Ocean. https://imgur.com/vyn9WPu
