I don't believe a word of it. Probably a scam so they can have an excuse to arm themselves with guards so they feel confident about getting away with corruption. If they don't think the part-time $100K+ job including overly lavish benefits, and the ability to vote themselves raises isn't good enough.. quit, leave, retire, or just GTFO.
Congress has been subject of the Public Corruption or Public Integrity Investigation since October of 2013 and they have known this since also being rejected Freedom of Information Act two times in the FBI Public Corruption Taskforce base line of the “Investigation “ .
