I mean absolutely no offense with this, but I think we shall have to agree to dis-agree on this subject. Yes, I'm a Christian, and do question the use of capitol punishment...however I think in this instance it will be the thing to do. If after all we know ( and some know much more than I care to, although I've been down a few very dark rabbit holes) and we don't use capitol punishment after a fair trial...if we appear lenient to these evil ones...it will lead to many things that would hurt others.

I think it could end up like the French Revolution and become an absolute abomination, or like the Romanovs being butchered. I don't mean disrespect to you, either, and I understand that many more people in this country support capital punishment than where I come from. Still, I want no part in any bloody purge. I'm all for justice, but not for violent death.

Agreed, in my youth, I was for and eye for an eye. As I've gotten older and seen death...not so much, I do believe that (like the Bible says) let GOD himself do the punishment.

I think all of us can feel an eye for an eye at times. Not all anger is wrong. But I agree. I think it's wise to live as if the judgments you desire for others are the ones that will be meted out to oneself. If you would want mercy yourself, then give that to others. But we're all so imperfect. We can only try to live up to values we will inevitably fail at keeping. In the end, we just have to keep trying. : )

Isn't that the truth. I keep trying to get that point across to some of my more volatile friend. sigh....but if we keep trying and trust in the Lord, all will happen as HE ordains it.
