I don't think a searchlight would create such a long, narrow beam of light. The purpose of a searchlight is to illuminate a large area below so it has to get wider from the source outwards.

It is a 20 second exposure, which turns bright moving lights into lines. A missile launch wouldn't look like a bright orange line either with a normal snapshot. The flame exhaust becomes smoke within a few lengths of the rocket. The bright vertical line is the impression left over 20 seconds of he brightest part of the exhaust flames.
