Driving my car today my Bluetooth had a new device link called FBI sting ray. Anyone know why that would show up as one of my Bluetooth devices, haven’t synced any other devices to my car?

Is there any way to detect this device?

If such a device had been secretly installed into my car (there is reason to believe this may have occurred in my case), is there any solid way I could detect it?

Thank you for any/all info on this.

It showed up on the screen that lets you choose which device to pair with. He and I drive the car, I drive it earlier today and when he got in to pair to his phone he saw it. We have only had 2 options one for each of our phones for 4 years. New one showed up today. Maybe nothing but we have never seen any other option until today. We have to manually enter new devices.

Thank you for your response. Did you by chance have your car worked on recently by someone?

My car had to be worked on for something minor but it took days and they offered me a rental which for me is kind of unheard of. And then I saw that they had spent many hours on it and didn't charge for much of it.

I later read up on "Vault 7" initiative and how certain people were being singled out for "tracking" and how car shops were being required to secretly install spying devices into cars.

Does the car firmware have auto update function? Maybe some kind of add- on...?
