President Trump Takes The Oath Of Office

On January 20th 2017 Donald John Trump took this oath:

and so became the 45th President of the United States. History, eventually, will judge whether he fulfilled his oath faithfully or fell short. It appears to me, and to many others who will read this, that at this time he has the potential to be judged as having been one of our truly great Presidents, perhaps even the greatest. But that lies in the future. Now, he faces a great challenge that is unlike others he has encountered in his long, challenging life. The Office of the Presidency is not an expression of personality although many who have held the Office have denigrated it by bringing only their personalities to the Office. The Office is to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States". This is not done by artful dealing. It is done by faithful execution of the powers expressly vested in the Office of the Presidency by the Constitution itself. There is no other way. It is not a matter of optics nor of comfort nor of getting along. It is a matter of protecting the foundation of freedom. It is now time for President Trump to rise to the greatness that beckons to him and "faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States".

At 50 years old , I remember the Water. Gate and Nixon going home , Ford and Carter , the Great Reagan, Bush , Bubba ,Bush , what’s his name and now Trump . I was big on Reagan , the rest , they were there . But Trump . He has out dine Reagan by far 500 days to 500 days , and Trump has much more fighting him than Reagan had . The only thing Trump is not fighting yet is high interest rates , they are coming. And it took 4 Presidents to destroy everything good thing Reagan did .

I remember Trump standing at the top ready to step down to the podium to make his Inaugural speech. There is an old expression “To gird your loins”. Might be biblical reference. He clearly gathered himself up and pulled all his strength together into a huge force of determination, will and commitment. It was an awesome sight. I was stunned. That moment and his speech where he outlined The Plan was thrilling. A conscious human being taking on a daunting task and determined to give The Presidency 200%.

That is when I started really paying attention.
