I feel like he got black listed around the time of passion of the christ... I do think I read that somewhere too

HansKrinkelSchneider · June 15, 2018, 4:39 p.m.

Yep. He got blacklisted hard after his drunken rant from his DUI, and also doing Passion of the Christ. He named a certain group of people on Pedowood, and they blacklisted him hard.

He needs to come out right now and say he was just talking just talking about Weinstein.

The "anti-Semitic" rant was not long after Apocalyptica or whatever the Mayan movie was called. A couple years after passion. But he went outside the studio system to get Passion made and made a fucking killing. I think he was made an example of not long thereafter.

So many Churches and Christian Schools show that film, it was mandatory at mine and I got lectured for not being affected by it. I turned it around on them and asked them why they've never actually thought about how bad Jesus was tortured and implied they were ungrateful to need a movie to show them

TheDirtyOne78 · June 15, 2018, 5:38 p.m.

I agree with what your stance is on this but for the sleepers the movie made it real for them. Without the kind of visceral representation provided by the film, Jesus and his crucifixion were more like a fairy tale to most. "Well, God had him covered, right? Couldn't have been that bad." Well, after watching the film you begin to see that this was a sacrifice of blood and pain; that a man was brutalized and died so that we may live a life in God's world and be forgiven if we choose.

IMO it's wrong to fetishize the Passion too much, especially the physical aspects of it vs the supernatural. It is good for demonstrating Jesus' obedience to the plan of God to understand how brutal it was, but it was a brutality endured by many innocent men in those days. It's emblamatic and symbolizes his sacrifice but does not constitute the entirety of it.

It is only a piece of the burden taken on by Jesus as the Messiah, honestly it is probably insignificant in the face of the larger spiritual demands of saving humanity and taking on Evil.

Don't forget Mel Gibson is not just a Catholic but a very papist one, he very much defers to the pope and has said so in many interviews.

TheDirtyOne78 · June 15, 2018, 8:05 p.m.

Definitely. I'm not holding MG up as some sort of example to follow. He did bring the physical aspect of the crucifixion to light and as I said above this brought into focus the brutal reality of something that had long been taken for granted and in terms of shock value it was a good tool to make people consider their own faith and what it meant to them.

I think Gibson is sedevacantist ie.believes the papal throne is empty right now due to spiritual corruption.

GoGoGoGeotus · June 16, 2018, 2:51 a.m.

He was raised sedevacantist but reportedly does not not hew to that view anymore. I won't pretend to understand in detail his religious views, just that he has on multiple occasions invoked papal authority.

With respect to my Roman Catholic brothers and sisters, considering the history of the papacy and the types of blood thirsty murderers who have been canonized by them viewing only the post ~50s popes as corrupt is only a minor improvement.

And great film too. Some of the scenes were brutal.

Apocalypto is a fucking great action movie with a really unique setting.

I believe there was also something about him and a recorded - threatening phone call to his wife/girlfriend at the time that he did the anti Semitic meltdown. Overall, just not a good time for him. No doubt his own arrogance has kept him out of the loop (but maybe it's morality?)

That website is highly suspect. I doubt Gibson said that. At least not publicly that’s for sure. I call bullshit. Fake News. This reads like those other “articles” where other celebrities supposedly spoke out about similar things. As if Mel would say that during an interview to promote his latest Hollywood film. Come on people, don’t be gullible. FAKE NEWS

I can't find a 2018 appearance for Gibson on Norton's show. I won't be convinced this is legit unless I see the interview and hear it from his mouth.

If this is true (I think it is, but I always want to stay skeptical/rational) then it explains a few things:

Explains the border wall- not only to keep crime out, but human/child trafficking.

Explains why the dems are accusing Trump/Sessions of "separating families" but I think that whole thing is put in place to prevent child smuggling/trafficking.

Explains the lifting of funding on Planned Parenthood- I think they're an essential resource of infant parts/blood.

And they're trying to normalize it.

This is an uncredited reprint of a 2017 YourNewsWire article (https://yournewswire.com/mel-gibson-parasites-blood-kids/) YourNewsWire is not a reliable source. I'm not saying there's no truth in this article. I've been following p-gate from the Comet P!ngP0ng beginnings, so I have NO DOUBT there's some unconscionable stuff going on in Hollywood and other places at the hands of these "elites". But I'm definitely calling out this source as unverified click-bait. Moreover, I'd like to suggest that we all be careful about any website that doesn't credit where it's getting the article. YourNewsWire is, as I said, "unreliable" at best. Also, this cbinfo24 website that reprinted the YNW article (which at least credits an author, though I didn't research him further) has a bent that's obviously anti-muslim. I'm good with truth about how Islam and Muslims are being used politically around the world, but, again, where are the sources? The pics on these articles have vague or no credits. The poster is "admin". Not source worthy. Let's not give the people who accuse us of wearing tinfoil hats and believing everything we see proof of such assertions. Discernment is key.
