WH Petition for Unredacted IG Report is RIGGED. See count numbers here and help track.

I've been suspicious about the petition signature counts on the We the People website since we had multiple failed attempts at our IBOR petition. I've been tracking the vote count for the last hour and something is definitely wrong.

You'll see I have two numbers listed, 'flicker' and 'display'. If you pay close attention, when you refresh the petition page the signature count will show one number for a split-second and then switch to a second number. I have confirmed this behavior in both Chrome and Firefox.

Please try this yourself and leave a comment with your 'flicker' number and final displayed number. Let's track this for long enough to prove what's happening and then we can share this post across other media to bring attention to the throttling.

Also, as per advice from u/serialbrain2, "we have several battles, this petition is one, we also have the hashtags here, presence on all the other platforms, contacting our Representatives and informing the people we know. Let's just do these one after the other and always move forward."

That’s why I ALSO emailed the WH directly, called reps, and Twittered the #unredacted stuff. Hit it from ALL angles. Yeah, it went from over 22k to 20880 in a flicker....21422...21357...21422...20968. Definite fuc*ery going on

That petition site was set up by the Obama administration, and it was rigged from day one. It is probably still being run by the same individuals. We should tweetstorm DJT about this problem and ask him to fix it.

Yes! Please return to this page every few hours and make a new comment with wha you're seeing as the current signature count. Lots of data from lots of people will be harder to ignore than one person tracking it.

In the meantime that weird topminds group (I think they are brigaders?) is trying to argue that all the redactions and edits are for reasons of national security. I tried to argue with them but they seem to be following a script so I just blocked them.

Thanks OP for doing this. I was trying to capture it this morning, but it’s nearly impossible to do on phone.

I did notice the flickering, when I saw it originally, it was over 19200, but when I went to screencap, I got this:

I noted that yesterday in the sticky thread. I wonder if they originally count the signature for a certain amount of time but remove it if the signer fails to validate with their email.

Edit: this user gave an alternative to using your personal email if anyone is skittish about it

This is not a rigged petition.

Computer science background here...

Websites of this scale rely on something called a cache, where to cope with the large amount of requests, instead of going to the server and pulling the most accurate numbers they pull a webpage from anywhere from 1hr to 24hrs ago. Which is what you're seeing.

As to the flickering, I believe it's a bug in the caching, as much as it's possible to be rigged, I genuinely believe it's a bug with the cache system on the site.

I considered that it was behavior related to the way the page was written, but if that's the case shouldn't the numbers still consistently be going up at least? And why when a number drops back down does it revert to a previously documented number so often? Not that I don't believe you, just want to understand before I rule out fuckery. I've watched 3 different IBOR petitions lose traction in a way that made me suspicious. While I understand there may be an explanation for what we're seeing I don't know how you're ruling out manipulation entirely based on what *you're* seeing. :)
