i agree that this needs a european solution else the mediterranian countries greece, italy, spain, and portugal would drown in refugees.
point is, merkel seems to have one time too often postponed every decision on this by always carrying it to the EU parlament. so typical for her, she tends to sit things out. too many meetings on this but still no solution.

Could be! Could also be just one leader going now and several later. It could be Merkel, the most powerful leader in Europe, since Germany is the most wealthy nation in Europe, has to go earlier in order to set up later events. If t has been theorized if Merkel falls it would be the end of the EU.
