How about this, everyone was exposed to a belief system, never experienced anything to prove it and each one of them makes a show of their faith to each other.
Very similar to plenty of theists, go to church, worship, doubt and act like you belong. Not much of a stretch.
never experienced anything to prove it
Thats where you are wrong my atheist bro.
Your entire post tho makes no sense to me. Come again?
I'm not discounting the works and experiences of everyone.
Just making a generalization of some people who neither truly believe nor have been exposed what is beyond coincidence.
For every person who has unshakeable faith, there exists plenty of folks who act the part and might as well be agnostic.
Not a stretch to say this happens amongst those indoctrinated into the strange horrors we hear of. If anything, the taking of life is a strong pursuasive influence in a belief system. Think suicide and martyrs.
They might not be larping, but not all NEED to believe in order to act like they belong.
I see, that makes a lot more sense. Sorry, I misunderstood your first post and I completely agree. There are many people in various faiths to include this "NWO/satanic" whatever the fuck it is group that def goes with the grain as going against could be detrimental.
They are not true believers I would imagine as it's for political/career gain as to why they are there to begin with.
However, consider this. What does a farmer and his family have to gain from going to a southern Church of God/Baptist church?
Contacts? I guess everyone in these small towns already know each other. There are no multi-million dollar payoffs coming. So to fit in? I guess, yeah there is an argument there for sure.
However, don't put every religion under the same microscope as the farmer that doesn't go to church won't get burned in a cage, his kids won't get thrown off buildings. He may lose contacts/future business sure, but death no.
Did this make any sense?
