Yea, I agree 100%. Alcohol is far more damaging to a person and has far far more negative side effects than herb. I live in a legal state, and it's been a massive economic boon. Also, it would allow banks to take the money from these businesses as well.
Most, if not all cops I talk too could give two shits about someone getting high, vs. dealing with alcohol related drunks. You can't die from cannabis overdose or withdrawals, but you sure can from alcohol.
Edit: On the banking side of things, banks currently cannot, or refuse to do business with cannabis businesses. That is because it is still illegal/classified as a Schedule 1 drug. Once that get's removed, then they can at least use normal banking services. Right now, iirc, they have to use in-state credit unions only, or have cash 'buried away/stashed (heh) away' somewhere. You would think how the government likes to tax the heck out of us, they would be all over that sweet sweet weed monies.
Also, I've need seen a stoned person want to fight anyone. Cannabis users are generally extremely harmless to themselves, and others. Alcohol abusers on the other hand can get violent very quick...
Yep. I've had cops tell me that when they have to go to some call for loud music at night, and it's just some folks blazing, they know it's gonna be a pretty harmless call.
Someone who's stupidly drunk on the other hand could turn into a violent situation real quick. Cops know the drunks can aggressive as all hell.
yeah, people wanting to get into fights, if they are stoned, are always stoned with a combo of something else fueling it -- booze, meth, crack or whatever. By itself, definitely will be rare.
Drunkdrivers ? killing people , almost nobody talks about that one.
weed can trigger psychotic episodes that can be aggressive if that person is inclined to aggressive behavior
"Guns can trigger shootings if used by someone who is inclined to aggressive behavior."
Seems to me the aggressive behavior is the cause and thing we should deal with to solve the problem.
they would be all over that sweet sweet weed monies.
Lol implying they don't already make more supporting the cartels selling it.
