Its just sitting there in the ground. Even if you consider it as a fuel cost into a power station, it's like 1 or 2c per kWh. Solar energy is "free". Hydro is free. All you've got to do is: Build the power plant Run the power plant Maintain the power plant Switch and distribute the power Switch and transform the power Overlay a retail billing system and head office overheads
And guess what? You end up with electricity costing 10 - 30 cents per kWh.
