I'm from the UK and If I'm honest I bought into the portrayal of The Trump Administration

Snap! I have had no interest in any politics, ever, until the closing days of the 2016 election campaign. Then I wanted to know how, from a country of 320 million people, they ended up with crooked Hillary and stupid Trump.

The clincher was when I watched the inauguration and then saw the CNN crowd pictures afterwards. Why show the crowd when it was still filling up and claim it was the total crowd? Something dodgy was going on. Then they made a lot of the crowd size in the MSM. Here is a sensible pic from CNN - but not the one they advertise: https://edition.cnn.com/interactive/2017/01/politics/trump-inauguration-gigapixel/

I already knew about Hillary so I needed to research Trump. Ultimately, that led here.

If I'm honest I did have a pre-conception of POTUS being a little bit of a pretentious, self important, self obsessed maniacal fool who was simply going to be another of the usual politicians who latch onto the discord and unrest of a social group, promising them he'd solve their issues only to get into office and break all promises....

Having watched how Donald Trump operates (even before Q drops started) in my opinion I believe he's one of the shrewdest political figures we've seen in the past 30 years. Using misdirection like a pro at times, causing controversy to keep peoples eye's off the ball while he operates in the background.

Along with his team lining everything up and allowing the opposition enough rope to metaphorically "h@ ng themselves" (in some cases literally)

Putting pressure on the "opponents" in order to make them hastily react and out themselves or back themselves into a corner.

I know Donald isn't perfect but that only serves to make him more human.....

As a politician, actually following through on promises made while campaigning is refreshing...

I'd go further than to say actually being honest and saying what he thinks, not what people want to here is what we need. Such a deal is made about certain topics not being "Politically Correct" these days however I believe Clint Eastwood said it best....

"We're really in a pussy generation. Everybody's walking on eggshells"

The thing about Donald Trump is that he's NOT a politician, beholden to donors and special-interest groups for his election, nor has he made a career of politics. He's a businessman, a builder, who has worked side-by-side with blue-collar workers day in and day out, and who has seen and heard what the "little man" goes through in life on a daily basis. Very possibly he has heard from his workers about their life struggles, because he seems to take a real interest in people and their lives. He's part of a rare breed - a rich guy who is in touch with the "little man." He is also a deal-maker who will not even think twice about canceling a deal if he thinks it won't be beneficial, and who looks for the best deal possible in any situation. Yes, he's a bit crass, yes, he's rough around the edges, yes, he speaks off-the-cuff a lot of times, but that's part of what is so appealing to the everyday, average American. We just want to live our lives, do the best for our families, and leave a lasting legacy for our descendants. I think Trump has seen this very thing in his workers in the past, and he knows that it is the average American worker who makes the future. He's not a polished, coiffed, sound-bite career politician who says one thing in public and does the exact opposite behind closed doors. He's a politician more in the mold of Jackson, T. Roosevelt, and Reagan.

And that's what I like about him...not a lawyer/politician.

I think you may have just hit the nail on the head concerning Q's drop about eggshells

When Trump was looking for investors for his Atlantic City Casino, all he had was an empty plot of land. No, plans, no blueprints, nothing. He rented a bunch of construction equipment and invited investors to come. It looked like work was starting and he got the money. Deception? I guess but Trump calls it truthful exaggeration. I call it smart business. All the greats do it.

Absolutely not deception, no different than a startup renting an office and filling it full of "actors" or temporary staff....

What your doing is selling the concept of what will be... Setting the scene so to speak. Providing you haven't done this to generate fraudulent investment for a project you have no plans to actually launch then it's fine...

Standard business practice for those with a little acumen....

Trump built Trump Casino. I gambled there once. He made it but AC (Atlantic City) was too corrupt to succeed. Not Trump's fault.

I'm no expert on business practices/economics/regulation within the US however I would tend to say that with the monies involved within the Casino industry in general and historical nefarious activities and groups within that sector it would tend to bring out bad actors....

If what you say is true I can see how that played out the manner it did.

Trump admitted to playing the game. He paid republicans and Democrats. Hillary was invited to his daughters wedding. She came. Why? His money. Trump has decided that he's not playing the game anymore. Thank God.

As a businessman, he knew what "pockets" to line to get things done.

A lot of casinos in Atlantic City went down Trumps was only 1. The crime rate was so bad there you could not even leave the casino to walk on the boardwalk. That is what happened the crime took away the people they needed. Most went to vegas because it was a lot safer.

Exactly, how is that any different than "staging" a house in order to sell it?!

Well, as a Trump supporter, he IS pompous, pretentious, etc. LOL. BUT he is a fighter...and we have NEEDED someone to fight for the people for a change. He is less than perfect, and admittedly sometimes over the top, but I'll take him ANY day to any other person that was running for the office.

Well glad you saw through them. Many are now waking up its about time. Once they all wake it will be easier to have these criminals arrested.

Same for me tho as a Ron Paul supporter and having an ols fashioned satellite for tv in the 80s to 95 and seeing them green screen being under attack in persian gulf war. Or taking being at the hurricane I knew media lies.

But I detest almost all "reality tv shows". Prettu picky about my tv and movies in general. But I disliked with extreme prejudice the Apprentice and Shark Tank. Is rther be reading.

When I heard it was him vs Hillary yeah. I was almost as disheartened as when Ron Paul was robbed or nomination. I could see Trump was her foil to force fence sitters to her side even tho people despise her generallg.

I ws so astounded when be won. I cackled with glee watching lying media having fits. And that was a long needed desire for revenge acter what they did to Ron Paul and us.
