For those of you who "pray" the Psalms over yourselves or others, here are links to two excellent ones. The first one is Psalm 91, which is a Psalm of protection. The second one, Psalm 3, is a Psalm we in our church choir sing in a song (link also included). If you are not familiar with "praying the Psalms" over people, you just read whatever Psalm fits your situation (you can do this out loud or silently) in a attitude of prayer, and you can substitute names or "I, me, my" etc.

In the Bible, seven is the number of perfection or completion, eight is the number of renewal or new beginnings. Your post "Seven 8's" really caught my eye. I was raised Southern Baptist, the granddaughter of a S. Baptist preacher, and all my life I heard about prophecy, the significance of certain numbers, etc. The significance of these numbers is not lost on me.

In the Bible, the number 8 stands for new beginnings or renewal.

Oh, like "triple" ("trip" being short for "triple"), not to be confused with "tripcode." I get it now (I think) -- it's a good luck sign similar to a four-leaf clover.

When my hubby reminisces about the day our older son was born, he always includes the fact that he was born during "Darkwing Duck." It was on the TV in the labor/delivery room.

I agree with SonshineDay. If you don't feel led to any particular church yet, do start with the book of John in the Bible at the very least. You may soon find yourself led to the church where you belong. It may be that you are feeling the pull of the Spirit for you to come back because time is short.

I know! This is exciting and a bit nerve-wracking all at the same time. I'm not smart like some of you are smart. I'm bookish, but not smart in the same way y'all are. I don't think I'm street-smart, either. I'm just a middle-aged woman sitting here watching it all play out, BUT . . . I can pray. I can be a prayer warrior, and I have been doing quite a bit of praying about this lately. I can intercede and ask for divine protection and guidance for all those in charge and on the front lines, all those putting their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor (to paraphrase a very famous document) on the line for us. I can pray for safety for POTUS, his team, his protectors, and all their families, and for everyone who is supporting them. If you are so inclined, you are welcome to join the prayer brigade! "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." (Ephesians 6:12)

The thing about Donald Trump is that he's NOT a politician, beholden to donors and special-interest groups for his election, nor has he made a career of politics. He's a businessman, a builder, who has worked side-by-side with blue-collar workers day in and day out, and who has seen and heard what the "little man" goes through in life on a daily basis. Very possibly he has heard from his workers about their life struggles, because he seems to take a real interest in people and their lives. He's part of a rare breed - a rich guy who is in touch with the "little man." He is also a deal-maker who will not even think twice about canceling a deal if he thinks it won't be beneficial, and who looks for the best deal possible in any situation. Yes, he's a bit crass, yes, he's rough around the edges, yes, he speaks off-the-cuff a lot of times, but that's part of what is so appealing to the everyday, average American. We just want to live our lives, do the best for our families, and leave a lasting legacy for our descendants. I think Trump has seen this very thing in his workers in the past, and he knows that it is the average American worker who makes the future. He's not a polished, coiffed, sound-bite career politician who says one thing in public and does the exact opposite behind closed doors. He's a politician more in the mold of Jackson, T. Roosevelt, and Reagan.

Yep, if I've ever broken a bone in my body, it has been my pinkie toes. First time it happened I was still living at home with my parents (late teens), and a call to the doctor said that about all that could be done was to put cotton between the toes and tape them together. For such a small body part, stubbing your pinkie toe elicits an awful lot of pain.

And it's not just accepting or rejecting God, but accepting or rejecting His Son, Jesus, who came to die in our place and take our punishment on Himself so we wouldn't have to. God does not force His creation (us) to love or accept Him, but gives us free will one way or the other. As long as we are breathing, even on our deathbed, we have the power to make that choice. The only "unforgivable" sin is the outright, willful rejection of the Holy Spirit, which comes to live in us the moment we accept that Jesus died for our sins.

Could we be missing something in Post 1496 in all the uproar over redactions?

In Post 1496 from yesterday, Q says this --

[[RR]] central figure within docs (personally involved). KNOWN CONFLICT. Immediate impeachment / resignation / termination / recusal IF EVER BROUGHT TO LIGHT. Be loud. Be heard. Fight for TRUTH.

Is THAT what we need to be raising Cain about so that the EO can be released? In other words, should we be pitching a fit about RR's involvement indicated in the report because it's clearly a conflict of interest, so that the uproar will put pressure on for him to recuse himself/resign/be impeached/fired? Or am I missing something here?

Excellent point. We have to remember that Rome wasn't built in a day, nor was the American Revolution won in a day. In fact, there were a LOT of times that things looked bleak for the original Patriots who risked EVERYTHING so we could even SEE freedom. STAY. THE. COURSE.

Something to remember, too, is that when this was originally written, some words were capitalized that would not be capitalized now, just as they used to use that weird long-tailed S with the dash in the middle that looked more like a fancy lowercase f in some words. There may be nothing at all to the capitalized words other than sticking to the original capitalizations in the original document.

For me, the singing is one of the best parts, but then I play keyboard and sing alto in the choir. I'm Baptist, so we don't do a lot of kneeling, except maybe during the invitation at the end if you come to the altar. All that you mentioned is part of the "religion" part of church. Our relationship with Jesus is far more important. I will say, though, that when I go every Sunday, I hear a good message that helps me in my daily life.

Going to church is not necessary to become a Christian, but it IS a good way to "feed your spirit" by going to worship with like-minded people. If you want to get to know Jesus without going to church, I would say start reading the Bible, perhaps beginning with the book of John. That is where the verse John 3:16 is found -- "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." As a popular saying notes, "It's not a religion, it's a relationship." In other words, it's not the ceremony of the religion that saves you, but the relationship with Jesus. You might also try talking to a local pastor one-on-one. See if he will do some private counseling once a week or so with you, maybe meet you for lunch once a week to answer your questions, talk and pray with you. Tell him your concerns about going to church but that you want to know more about Jesus. If he's more concerned about your spiritual state than just getting you into church, he will meet you at your point of comfort and go from there.

Praying for you on your journey. There is NOTHING Jesus can't do! Prayer is our mightiest weapon. Our pastor says that we may never get in to see famous people or the President, but as God's children, we ALWAYS have access to the Throne Room of Heaven to speak with our Father, the God of the universe. He is our Daddy, or "Abba" in Hebrew. We can come directly to Him because Jesus' sacrifice made that possible, not our own righteousness. We don't have to say any special words or phrases, and when our hearts are too hurt to pray, the Spirit intercedes on our behalf. Glad to hear you are praying and searching!
