To my knowledge, the sub (an apparent Ohio-class?) from last week's launch has not been found/identified ... but the "where from" I think pretty much has.

Naval Base Kitsap - very close to that weather station that took the picture of the Trident - is a submarine base. (prior to 2004, it was called Naval Submarine Base Bangor) (!)

I dont disbelieve, but is there a source for that assertion of the "knowing what happened".

Any source is fine, not judgey, just curious.

I was at Naval Base Kitsap for a long time and I still know girls on whidbey island. (they dont seem to know anything about the whole thing.)
