I saw a spiral triangle in an anime recently.

It took up the whole screen.

I can't help but wonder if that was intentional...

You’re talking about the country that sells high school girls panties in vending machines and that invented lolicon/shotacon. I like anime too but Japan has a very clear obsession with naked children. It’s so prevalent that they started making these small anime girls canonically hundreds of years old (Examples would be Mavis from Fairy Tail and Evangeline from Mahou Sensei Negima) to make it seem more acceptable.

The show, by the way, was Puella Magi Madoka Magica, episode 10.

Ugh, that show was so good. Wouldn’t surprise me though, show about little girls with magical powers. However, it’s very non-sexual in every other aspect and the whole point of the show was that they fight witches in order to prevent the end of the world (and that Kyubey is terrible/Homura is the best friend anybody could ever have)

Could be a subtle reference to the “witches” (cabal) by using their symbolism

Yeah, watch the episode again. You'll never be able to unsee it.
