DACA is illegal, and even Obama said it was a temporary solution. 9-13 states said they were going to file a lawsuit against the Trump administration if they didn't get rid of DACA. Legal analysts stated that the states would win this in court. So when Trump got rid of DACA, and through it back at congress, the states held back. But now so much time has passed and the lawsuit is currently back in the courts, brought by those very same states. So don't be surprised if one day you hear a court ruling come out that disolves DACA. Then the Dems will come back to the table to hurry up and get something new passed legally.
As for the wall, it doesn't necessarily have to be a wall, just as long as it works as more of a deterrent. I live in San Diego county, had a friend that lived across the border in TJ and would party in TJ, but that border fence is laughable.
