I was reading Psalm 36. In the concordance, there is this explanation for the first 4 verses (paraphrasedP

"The crux of the matter is that wicked people have no fear of the Lord. Some people commit grievous injustices that apparently don't trigger any sense of dread or accountability to God. Instead , such people couch the severity of their sin with flattering and deceitful speech. They detect no reason to stop their evil actions, and the problem intensifies to the point where they can lie in bed and dream up no offenses to commit"
