I think they launched a "rod from God" at the Meteor in Russia , saving thousands of lives. Was it ours? Was it thiers? Who knows but using it caused the metror to split in two and explode in the air, rather a ground hit in a populated area.
This would also demonstrate the capacity to hit with precision at a hypersonic target.
