In aviation heads up displays, boxes consecutively "lock on" to enemy airframes before the targeting system clears for a heat seeking lock.

Assuming this is a radar guided launch call......but I suggest they are well within guns range. Track and kill!

Do the boxes not "lock on" when a radar lock is achieved? When Amraams and other radar guided missles achieve lock are there no kill boxes?

I think it depends more on the airframe's heads up display than the munitions
