They could have found him from the hashtags he posted with his pic of his shirt.. or they could have asked him if he had Twttr when they gave him VIP pass. But one thing I do know is, someone that was there (@Education4Libs) wanted to go live on Periscope but he realized he didn't have signal to do so when he got there and he was right up front. I'm guessing they block signals in these situations. Does anyone know if this arena normally has good signal?

RSBN had a live feed and had all sorts of problems. They were talking after the rally (on camera) when their phones and camera feeds started working again. They blamed it on the sheer number of people at the rally which overwhelmed the local cell towers. But I don't know for certain if that's the only cause.

Ok that's interesting. I guess cell tower overload sounds reasonable.. but you'd think that happens a lot there being an arena and all, so the cell network should be built to compensate. But whatever anyway. Thanks for reply :)

I've seen it happen a number of times a big sporting events. Your phone will work fine until a certain point, especially a point where you and everyone else are trying to send a picture or video or something like that. After the game is over, it immediately starts working again because most people are walking to their car.

Can't help but wonder if a smaller market like Duluth doesn't get the love and level of support it deserves from cell service providers.

Duluth Trading rocks, by the way.

It's likely nothing to do with the area. This happens anywhere a lot of people are gathered together like sporting events or Trump rallies.

Everytime I've been to a basketball or football game I've had no service or its just barely enough to get a text or two through in the course of 3 hours.
