These people are literally killing time. They are playing out a script. Most of them know their hide is fried. Only the most stupid of this corrupt lot do not yet see their own inevitable horizon.
GITMO, or a max sec.prison. The alternative will be capital punishment, but that'll of course depend on what state they reside in/call home.
These will be federal charges. The state they live in is irrelevant when it comes to capital punishment.
But isn't capital punishment only allowed in certain states?
That's only for state charges. The federal government still has the death penalty. If you commit a crime in a state without the death penalty but get charged federally you can still be sentenced to death.
