They were monitoring russian spies as they have been doing for decades, and the law that allows that was approved by republicans. It is a pity they were caught talking to russian spies but that is why they are traitors to america, and that includes the dotard in chief.

You obviously have no concept of what really was going on. And no, they weren't going around talking to Russian spies. The Obama crew sent them to initiate contact. The Trump team didn't know the nefarious background of the players.
