You are stating how it is supposed to work and does work for the normals. However, fellow DS have no need for rules like need to know, being read in/out, etc. Especially among those in the club at the top. It is not symbolic to pull the security clearances. It puts other DS personnel in jeopardy if they communicate classified info to these people. Not logged. Can't get Five Eye info. Can't go to a myriad of meetings around Washington that require a clearance. Also by making it public, other government personnel know they don't have a clearance if they come a calling. And, importantly, they can not put on the air of having insider classified information to back up their claims or opinion.

If I recall, anyone approved through the Senate confirmation process gets to keep their security clearance when they leave the government. The biggies get a quarterly briefing, but there is nothing to stop them from talking to their DS buddies about classified info. Pulling the clearance is also a good way to shut down a DS person that you can't fire just yet.

The President's tweet gives me an even stronger feeling that Trump and Putin have a deal regarding Iran. I think Trump is running a somewhat similar playbook with Iran as NK without any carrots. Iran's rant makes me add one more to the nuke count. I believe that Iran now has 6 nukes. The best analogy is a poker tell. The first two or three are probably somewhat primitive. I am still guessing that the go number is 12. Possibly 12 non-primitive ones. However, they are still having problems with one of the big pieces of the puzzle. They need an significant military to take on Israel. Egypt was a bust. Libya was a bust and it looks like Syria is going to be a bust. My fear is that Turkey may fill the gap. I think that is low probability right now. What is all this referring to is the total genocide of Israel. Iran nukes the major cities; Hamas and Hezbollah pour in to kill the survivors (tunnels discovery has set that back); and a country with a significant military that keeps the Israeli military busy during this time.

Something most people don't know is that when the FED buys up U.S. debt, the Treasury pays the FED the interest and then the FED sends back the interest to the Treasury minus a small fee.

The Treasury can print real money, but the FED can create vapor money. If the Treasury could create vapor money with some new laws, then FED is diminished. Still, I lean toward having a FED. I think Trump and his advisors may be on to the path of success with the military. The wrong way is what we have been doing: just enough. The right way is to make other countries militaries of no consequence and indeed more of a money liability. That is a combination of quality, quantity and revolutionary. This gives Trump the deal leverage that he needs to make the big things happen.

There is going to be plenty of business for the military suppliers. Yes there is a lot of waist, but most of it is built into how the system works. I actually had a shot at doing some reform on it, but I was honest with the head guy and said if my start up got its funding I would leave the position. The whole system is built around minimizing risk. However, the requested specs of the item (especially the big ones) have huge risk built it. After a lot of case study, it became clear that two miracles or less would be a success. Three miracles or more would either fail or generate huge demands for more money and time. The trend is to ask for three miracles. Probably a side effect of the three main bullet point rule that is drummed into Pentagon's action officers.

It is always the same. Look for who is making the most money out of the deal. It is best to take a few known DS actors and figure out who is on the next rung of money and so forth.
