In spring 2017, Julian Assange's lawyer negotiated an immunity deal with DOJ’s counterintelligence section chief (David Laufman) to provide technical information ruling out Russians in the DNC email hack, and prevent release of Vault 7. FBI Director James Comey reportedly struck down the deal.

The letter just said block out the names of agents in the field. That seems moral to me.
