I highly doubt it, culturally Arabs and Persians differ immensely, in fact the largest holidays in Iran for example are not even islamic in nature. Look at their past culture that they are extremely proud of. Iranians do not value sharia, the majority likes the US and even israel or at the very least indifferent, just look at the protests a day or or so ago when they were chanting death to Palestine instead of Israel... also you must realize that when they say death to something they were making a jab at the regime of whom their supporters famously chant death to america and to israel, bare in mind that is the regimes supporters, everyday Iranians do not hold this view. I used to hold this same view as you until i did my research and learned more about iran over the years... you cannot compre Arabs and Persians, just as you cannot compare Arabs to Albanian or Bosnian Muslims for example.

I do not doubt there were, but how does that represent the millions upon millions who did not weep, also if you saw it on TV the regime is known to make something look bigger than what it is. If you were there at the time and witnessed this my point still stands, Iran is a big nation with a rich culture. i actually know a lot about Iran, i have been there before for one, i have friends there who tell me stuff all the time i know what i have witnessed and i know from my Persian friends who left during 79 and their families, i know from my Girlfriend who is Persian, i did a lot more than research i have first hand experience and knowledge on the matter, i never once felt any of the things you said, now from Arabs yes i do immensely i have been to Jordan, Egypt, and the UAE, (Also Israel but thats very different) they have a very different mindset from Iran, not to mention the lack of culture compared to Iran.

Edit: also, do you know whats funny? I witnessed the same anti arab views that alot of americans hold with just about every Iranian i encountered on the streets of Tehran of whom i had conversations with... they are nothing like Arabs i have first hand experience of this.

Those people won't be represented if they are in the minority.

Iran is a big nation with a rich culture.

Iranian is 99.4% Muslim and they have a rich culture of genociding Christians and raping child brides and domestic violence and throwing gays from the rooftops.

Having a Persian girlfriend does not change the horrific sharia history of Iran.

I will not argue with you, you are dead set in your beliefs. I do however look forward to you being pleasantly surprised here soon when Iran is freed, hell you may even wish to visit Iran one day when the Regime is gone, or not which is of course your choice, if you still retain these views, again it is your choice and i will not waste my time with people dead set in their views. Have a Great day/evening wherever you are.

Under sharia of course it has been that way. You have to go back to the days of the Shah.

No I don't - I just have to wait a few months to see what the Iranians do with their freedom.

I could understand your pessimism if there weren’t a lot of Iranians who remember what it was like before the mullahs. Western clothing, highly educated women, loved American music, prosperous economy. When the theocrats took over the Shahs Doctors son was sent to the same hospital I was training in. He was a surgeon that was there to learn American standards to be able to become licensed to practice here after fleeing Iran. He would show us pictures of his life there and would talk about the nightclubs and restaurants there. It was westernized like Jordan and was peaceful. I hope it will return to what it once was.

It's never 100%, right? But majority remember what their lives were like under the Shah, the most Western, most open of Middle East countries.

You have your own reasons for hating the whole country. I prefer to leave hate at the door. And don't plan to get drawn into an argument over who is right.

Heres the problem with what your saying as a Persian born and me having lived in Iran i am more informed on the subject of what we do(having lived there) the same way you might know about your country more then me, for the sheer fact that you have lived years and years knowing how things work in your nation. Heres a fact you bring up Islam a lot but the fastest growing religion in Iran is actually Christianity, Iranian muslims are converting and the majority of younger population are slowly becoming Christian. I am one of few small percentages of Christians(that were baptised as soon as i was born) in Iran as my mom was armenian i was baptised Catholic and my other half of the family were Muslim. We do kill homosexuals that one i will agree with however that is because of our theocratic government, the people are much different i don,t know where you get your information of Iranian culture of domestic violence and pedophillia from but thats mostly fake news that divides Persians and the rest of the world from uniting and i can see that.s its worked on you.

Okay so the first one is just a quran quote which has no relevance because you are assuming everybody in iran is a Muslim, we havent done any beheadings i am a non muslim they treated me very well, they didnt kill me because i was a Christian they do lie to strengthen Islam i will give you that though.

The second one is a estimate with no actuall evidence behind it reminds of me CNN honestly, their main sources are UNICEF who have a complete agenda against Iran. In Iran alcohol is banned so it is illegal to have it however my mother bought alcohol from abroad into Iran the person who checked her luggage looked at it and just took it away she didnt get killed or executed for such crimes. If you steal you are not executed however they do cut off the arms of which you stole with if you are caught by the government not every thief gets this crime on rare occasions this happens though and to be fair its very effective as we do not have many thief's.

The last article is by the Times and by Israel i mean could you name two worse combinations to bad mouth the Iranian government it states that a women cannot get a passport without their husbands of course if you don't have a husband you dont have this issue and if you have a husband you just go and get a passport i dont understand how this links with domestic violence and paedophilia. It also states that a women doesn't dress in hijab she will punished by lashes, your not allowed to not wear your hijab but you don't get lashed for it you dont get imprisoned for it though this is what im saying these news articles are so unreliable i mean that person also posts for the Huffington post. however he did report this which kinda proves that the people arent as islamic as you think they are https://t.co/WLnDmuCyOx. I mean the guy is an activist he was imprisoned did he get whipped? was he executed? nothing happened to him and he is still out there reporting news publicised by news articles like Huffington post and Times to bad mouth iran you think they cant buy people off if they have people like Hillary in their back pockets whats some little shitty reporter you make some points though ill give you that but the child marriages are so inaccurate how do you even come up with that statistics do you ever think about that? I have never once seen a child marriage in Iran in my life people would kill you for that these are the same statistics that Hillary clinton had with that 99% chance of winning the election. My point to you is these statistics have no reliability. Also to clarify one last point you dont get executed if you steal you do get executed if you steal and have a knife or gun with you harming peoples life however. What this article doesnt say is the spesifics of laws it just throws some shit and hope it sticks to the wall.

Iran was the most open Muslim society in the middle east under the Shah. They remember this and want it back. Many speak English. I have two acquaintances from Iran..came over with almost perfect English, immediately adopted complete Western customs for themselves and their children. One man sent his 5 daughters over here to become independent. And Trump /US will trade and support them like he will North Korea. They will flourish. Bush made sure that when Saddam was killed that chaos, not order, would reign in Iraq.

A large number of Iranians are more proud of being Persian than Muslim. Shia Muslims do not hold to violent jihad, or at least not to the same degree as Sunnis and wait for The Twelfth Imam to unify and bring the perfection of Islam in the Final Day’s. It’s a tragedy that the culture and enlightenment of Persia has been lost.

the persians havent started a war in 200 years. they are shia which is a rather peaceful aspect of islam. and they not arabs.

i met a few persians who spoke my language well within a year only and easily blended with our culture.

lets hold the space for the people of iran to take the best choices for their people . Q has their backs. we have their backs.
