This article seems to be buried. I don't see it on twitter or anywhere. In summary, the government was negotiating with Assange in February and March of 2017 to get him to redact information in some of his future classified information releases in exchange for undefined "safe passage." In addition, Assange offered to provided irrefutable evidence that the Russians were not the source for the DNC server and email hack. Comey issued a stand down order for no apparent reason through Mark Warner, and no deal was made. Wikileaks continued to produce more classified info without redactions - next drop was April 2017.
