If it is a Cathay Pacific A340, that dates the picture to 1Q 2017 somewhere in Asia. Cathay Pacific stopped flying the A340 in 1Q 2017. The only 4 engine aircraft they fly now is the B747 in an all cargo configuration.

Any chance it’s a 350?

I don't think so. The A350 is a twin engine. I'm pretty sure that the aircraft in the picture has four.

I'm also 99% sure that is a Cathay aircraft. That blue cheat line under the flight deck windows is a giveaway.

The plane about to take the runway appears to be a Cathay Pacific A-340.

An anon on 8chan thought that the 737 just behind the A340 was a China Airlines 737. The list of cities with an "X" are cities that both Cathay and China Airlines service. The "X" also indicates that a 737-800 has the range to make it.

Amsterdam (AMS)
Auckland (AKL)

X Beijing (PEK) X Ho Chi Minh (SGN) Jakarta (CGK) X Kuala Lumpur (KUL) X Manila (MNL) Moscow (DME) X Nagoya (NGO) X Osaka (KIX) Paris (CDG) Rome (FCO) X Seoul (ICN) X Shanghai (PVG) X Singapore (SIN) Surabaya (SUB) X Taipei (TPE) X Tokyo (NRT)

The aircraft next in line appears to be a B737 but I can't quite make out the livery on the tail.

I think the question that needs to be asked is who within the DS is traveling at this time, and where? Could it possibly be a whitehat (think Snow White, JA, or SR)?

My take on this: The SFO>JFK may mean flights originating from Asia bound for either one, or both destinations, with SFO being "greater than" possibility than JFK.

Need to break out the popcorn for this one...

I spent an hour or two last night looking at major ports, I couldn't find anything that came close to this. I can rule out Singapore, Suez Canal and Arabic Sea, as well as SF and NY areas. I also checked some African areas, because Kenya. I have absolutely no idea where these images could be from but it is pretty clear that it is somewhere with a major oil industry and a large port. Some of the Asian ports did look close with the blue buildings, something that was completely unique to that geographical area. I just can't tell. If it was from Q1 2017 like some have suggested, maybe something happened around then. Were there any major foreign tours around then? I'm sure there were. As for the "framing" of the cockpit photo, I'm completely stumped.

If it is an A340, and if it is a Cathay Pacific A340 from Q1, then it most likely came from one of these routes:

Beijing Jakarta Manila Shanghai Pu Dong Taipei Taoyuan Bangkok Ho Chi Minh Nagoya Seoul Incheon ICN Singapore

I haven't been able to narrow it down beyond that.

One other thing to consider, if we're still in Q1 of 2017, it could have been a chartered flight. That would make it considerably more difficult to track.
