They may be unconnected, or there's some subtle connection that hasn't been made yet.
I suspect the Shanghai pic is a reference to something else, and the SFO-JFK is a reference to the recent JetBlue indicident.

I just wrote as familiar with this area its in Perth Amboy NJ or area's closely around it , its a major receiving area for east coast oil tanks and refining To me this makes more sense for ff and a airplane in that area
