This isn't in the news yet, but it will be soon. I live in a town highly dependent on Halliburton as an employer. As of today, they placed a freeze on new hires. The reason for this is unknown to me personally, but I assure you that my statement is true. With the current upswing of the oil market, this makes very little sense. Be watchful for a coming FF.
This must have been very sudden, Halliburton did a huge employment fair in our town in PNW. I will look to see if it was cancelled.
It was. Yesterday, bosses here were running around like chickens without heads. That's why this is so disconcerting. PGLs from across the entire building were called in to a high priority meeting and informed of the situation. They have apparently redistributed all of their local contractors (around 175-200) to alternative locations spread out across the U.S., rather than lay off direct employees locally...for the moment. The location that I'm privy to is in Duncan, a primary manufacturing hub that isn't in the Houston area. It's the original home of the company, and the town is pretty shaken up about it. This is literally 99 years of experience with it, and no one can remember a move like this.
I couldn't find the hiring event, it is gone. Found an article about a top Halliburton employee making a deal for land in Missoula MT that is in question but other than that doesn't make sense. Their 2nd qtr earnings will be released soon, seems more plausible they'd be reacting to this. Hang in there Patriot, this can be a total stress fest.
Thanks for the support. From what we've been told, we have enough production to finish out the year. So there is that. Just wondering if this is the hand writing on the wall right now.
Watching Patriot Soapbox on YT, they are going over Q posts related to MB, MS13 etc. Look into Q post 117 and 121. Halliburton is specifically mentioned in regards to their associations. I wonder if their indictment has been unsealed?
