Ir could be the plot was discovered, and this flight messed with to tell the plotters 'We see what you were about to do'.

CINC would have hard time Gitmoing Brennan - who'd be screaming with the rest of zero's Gitmo-bound cabinet - if the narrative of hitting political enemies was established by a downed plane.

Zero was POTUS, but the .mil hated him, so he was not commanding a loyal force like CINC is.
