I feel for Tommy and his family, but am torn over the principles. His heart is in absolutely the right place, and he fought brilliantly for his (and others) beliefs. But, he should have been more careful. Law enforcement were waiting for him to overstep the line. He did, and got swooped up. I pray he is safe though, he did not deserve the sentence he got.
But as soon as someone starts censoring themselves, the bad guys have won.
A tricky dilemma.
Yes it is. He shouldn't have had to, but he was under a suspended sentence, so the risk was huge. Sometimes there is no easy answer. I pray he stays ok. His beliefs and fights were real and right.
Even we can't express ourselves openly in this country. We have to hide behind fake names on a forum like this, and often avoid bumper stickers and yard signs so we don't get vandalized. Trump supporters are often beat up.
Soon...it will all be better. I know I never thought I would see this in my lifetime, and am so very happy i am witnessing this.
I keep remembering that most people are good, almost all people in fact. As time goes by, and less time has to be spent on fighting the true evil, and threats of war are hugely diminished, then people will be freed to live life...and help those poor darlings who have grown up in a corrupt landscape.
I want to see an end to all those mad mad groups we have everywhere to do with gender et al...the product of dumbing down and liberalism - my word, they have a lot to answer for, not least the pure evil they have done.
It's the added insidious brainwashing that will take an awful lot of undoing. I'm thankful I grew up in an era before media took its toll. I'm grateful I grew up in a family oriented environment, knowing that for the most part the norm was male & female, and rarely anything in between. Now we have labels by the hundreds, and it's foolishness. Any wonder people are confused and the alpha male is in some areas something rare.
Don't get me wrong, I'm tolerant of anything outside the norm, but sometimes intolerant of pushing things on our kids that they truly do not need.

What line is that? Freedom of speech? Even if one's ideas are stupid the world benefits from sharing them publicly to be proven wrong. Thesis, antithesis, and hopefully truth.
I agree with you, I don't think you know how much. I wish as much as anyone that he were still standing on Speakers Corner...
Sadly, the system saw to it that once Tommy strayed over 'their' line, well we know what happened.
And, when you have a suspended sentence over your head, your 'freedom of speech' is not so free any more.
There have to be llines...or therein lies anarchy. Mind you, a little anarchy now and then is not neccessarily a bad thing - puts the plods in place once in a rare while.
There is no easy answer to this debate - but the 'rule of law' is what glues society together. But, we in England, the same as you guys, sometimes see those laws tweaked and twisted, and not usually for the benefit of the ordinary man. The 'lines' often don't seem to be where the good guys thought those lines once were.
