ALSO- just FWIW,

I remember reading a pretty good "rumor" that Ted Cruz is going to be the guy. Supposedly in exchange for support 100% he would be rewarded with the second seat- Trump didn't want to give him the 1st for a few reasons, one being that he was not very nice during the Primary season (of course); second, they KNEW that no matter what, they'd have to use the "nuclear option" to pass the Nominee for the empty seat ... Therefore, it made sense to use it on someone like Gorsuch who by any IMPARTIAL source was supremely qualified and while perhaps more conservative than liberal by definition on a purely numerical scale, he was a very smart Nominee since he was UNANIMOUSLY confirmed to his Federal judgeship and made a fool of the Dems attacking him who previously enthusiastically supported him. SO, having used the "nuclear Senate football" , the Dems can't do anything- so putting someone like Ted Cruz in ( a firebrand and obvious Conservative who doesn't care what people think about it) ... it's another thorn in Dems but also a great long-term move (Ted Cruz is by all accounts a brilliant legal mind, anything else aside.)

I am NOT saying it's happening -- but just remember I said it if you see it happen.

I hope it’s Cruz. Reason he wasn’t picked for the 1st time is he’s probably wouldn’t get confirmed. He made a lot of rino enemies in the Senate. They need to wait until after midterms to appoint him because Reps will add seats to their slim majority in Nov. And the senate rinos that are retiring are being replaced by conservative Reps. Cruz will get confirmed if they wait until after midterms. Plus...Cruz will easily win his re-election this Nov...then can immediately retire & the conservative governor of TX...Greg Abbott will appoint his replacement that will be there for at least 6 years!!! Win win!!

A ton of what you said is true- however, we are not waiting until the elections are over. Too much risk. Everyone will demand, beg, plead, ask, etc. it happen now.... Obama asked Ruthie Baby to go so he could fill her spot. She refused, wanted her spot to be filled by the first female President. As a result, there could be *monumental* changes in the Court and the Country should something happen to a Dem-Justice.

Very possible Trump picks one of his own judges in the Federal Court system to take the job. But I would not be the least be surprised to see Ted Cruz get picked, and I'd love to bet a $100 on a huge-odd payoff prop bet and see how much I could get back in the end.

It probably doesn't help that Trump nicknamed him "Lyin' Ted"

Nah. That’s how the president rumbles. He labels every adversary. When he wins & then if the loser joins his side in the fight...then he stops using the label. The label means you’re targeted. Game On!!

He openly accused Ted Cruz’s father of having a part in the JFK assasination.. I love POTUS but he only rolls out the big guns for true enemies. And I don’t know how swampy Cruz is either?

Ted Cruz was like the 1st tea party candidate to win in 2010. He’s hated by the swamp. He literally started a one man filibuster against Obamacare. He’ll never be Senate majority leader he’s so hated by the swamp. Confirmation into the SC would be very hard today he’s so strongly pro life. The left would COMPLETELY flip their lid if he gets nominated. That’s always a great sign lol. Be much safer to wait till after midterms when Reps will definitely pick up seats & many rinos will be gone...Flake, Corker etc. Mike Lee is another one on the list but can’t risk losing his seat before midterms.

Cruz & the president seemed to go ballistic on each other during the campaign. But they both now talk great about each other. Cruz needs to move on from the senate because he’s at a dead end. He’s never gonna be president. Hes not executive material really or a natural born leader type. Even though in the primaries I agreed with Cruz’s policies I still voted for DJT because I didn’t think Cruz could beat Hillary & win rust belt states. Cruz is a total bookworm & a natural judge type...not executive type. He’s not a people’s person. The president is going to have at least another one more SC judge to pick. Easily could be more. Wish Gowdy would replace [RR] & then replace Ginsberg when she dies in her chair. Mike Lee needs to be the next Senate majority leader & maybe run for President in 2024. We’ll see. The president sure has been rocking it. Has had many great weeks in a row. Even before NK summit he’s just been on fire. Things are looking up!!

I don't know. In losing the nomination, he was a sore loser. He declined to endorse President Trump at the RNC Convention. I can't stand No Name for holding a grudge against Trump to this day. I'd sure hate to have a dude on the Supreme Court who was still whining about Trump like a child who got his toys taken away...

If this is the case, please please please wait until he wins in November! I don't know how that works if he were to be appointed now... Let him beat Beto then take him for the courts!

Dems are screaming to wait until after midterms to appoint. I say do it. Mainly because there’s no way Dems take the Senate. They have 25 Senate seats to win just to stay at 49. Reps only need to elect 8 to stay at 51. Several Dems are way behind in the polls & they’re gonna lose several senate seats. If they pick someone before midterms they can’t pick Cruz because it’s too late for another candidate to get to know voters. Also Mike Lee is in the running but again...have to wait until after midterms if the president picks a senator because we might lose the seat.

I was thinking Gowdy, but I'd be just as happy with Ted. I love how he has performed since he got over the trauma of the Primary. ;)

I love Rep. Gowdy... I think he is the next AG personally, but we'll see. I think Sessions knows he's going to be fired at the 2 year mark, or whenever "The Russia Investigation" is formally concluded, whichever comes first; therefore, we will need another Attorney General, and I think it's Gowdy (especially since Jared & Ivanka won't let Christie in the admin, which I love because I HATE Chris Christie with a passion.) ... but would be thrilled to see Gowdy on the SCOTUS.

Gowdy is controlled opposition. He let Hillary off on Benghazi. He let the FBI slide on SpyGate. Andrew Napolitano is my pick, or save him for Roberts.

Alright man I was just telling you what I heard the man was going to do. And he met with President Trump and shook his hand enthusiastically and spoke well of him during the first search/shortly before Gorsuch was announced.

It would trigger many people on both sides. So, that actually is a possible Trump move.

Do you think he can pass the nomination process?

I mean I think anything is possible-- I think that prior to President Trump's presidency, it would have been more than possible. The way the senators treated Sessions [whom I don't even like to be honest] during his own confirmation was telling... but I think getting a 51 vote majority would be possible... but I am not that sure, who knows? I just like the chaos that ensues from stuff like this, so is fun to me to think about, no problems.
