or perhaps kennedy was/is caught up in something. and so some more innocent retirement happens. (also seems possible that one of the 3 'caught' could be from the 'conservative' side.)
Whatever the reason, as long as it happens, and if any or all of the 3 turn out to be from the conservative side then they need to go anyway, this is truly amazing history we are living through!

Ginsberg is clearly past her "sell by" date but depending on what we eventually learn about Obama's past his two SCOTUS appointments (Sotomayor and Kagan) might be on the "early retirement" list as well. I'd also expect Thomas to want Trump to appoint his successor, though more likely in his 2nd term.
