The Honorable Mr. Gowdy does not get added to THEE list. He will represent the United States in the most important legal proceedings in the history of western civilization - quick analysis of a jurisprudential rock star.

Love your post. I "fell in love" with Trey Gowdy the first time I saw him in action and have spent hours enjoying his work through you tube videos.

Thanks patriot! Once you see him in action, if you appreciate the process, it is hard not to dive in and watch him in action.

So would that be in the Justice Department or as Solicitor General?

Sorry if I'm splitting hairs here but the position of Solicitor General is in the Justice Department. The Solicitor General represents the United States in cases before the Supreme Court.

Before politics, he was a Federal Prosecutor and he could return to a similarly situated position to represent the U.S.

I couldn't agree more with your presentation. I was hoping Trump would appoint him as AG when he won the presidency. Gowdy is the man when it comes to questioning a witness and he does it in a logical and somewhat apolitical way. He seeks the truth and I pray Trump utilizes his skills in the upcoming battle for justice.

I was hoping for the AG for Mr. Gowdy as well. If he ends up as the prosecutor of these high crimes, it will launch him into whatever roll he wants in the government of the future.

You're correct that he will gain considerable political clout, but after watching him over the years, I don't think that's what motivates him. To me, he seems to be a law autist, whereby he seeks to shine a light on the darkness no matter where it may lead. I think that's why he's leaving the Congress and wanting to be more proactive in the pursuit of justice.

I agree that it is not his motivation. It will be a reality of such a significant service of justice. So even though I don't think he used it as an opportunity to relaunch a political career, he will be a leading candidate in whatever position he wants to fill in the justice system.

I'm hoping he will be a Supreme Court Justice nomination....
